Triple awards delight for Sanctuary Retirement Living

Sanctuary Retirement Living staff and residents are celebrating after two retirement communities were shortlisted in three categories at a national care awards.

Jazz Court in Scarborough and Jubilee Court in March, which provide retirement apartments with communal facilities and onsite care and support, have both been shortlisted for the regional Great British Care Awards 2020-21.

At Jazz Court, Wellbeing and Inclusion Assistants Tracey Potter and Yasmin Cox, have been jointly shortlisted for the Care Home Activity Organiser award, in the Yorkshire and Humberside region. At Jubilee Court, Hayley Massey, who also works as a Wellbeing and Inclusion Assistant, was shortlisted in the same category in the East of England region. 

Tracey, Yasmin and Hayley were all recognised for their efforts in providing fun, engaging and inclusive resident activities and events at their services, with a particular focus on maintaining and improving residents’ mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

There was, even more, to celebrate at Jubilee Court, as the whole team (including the housing, care, domestic, wellbeing and catering staff) was also shortlisted for the Housing with Care award. They were nominated for their team effort in looking after residents’ needs, particularly with the additional challenges of lockdown, and for making Jubilee Court a place that residents are proud to call home.

Amanda Ellwood-Roberts, Deputy Head of Service (North) for Sanctuary Retirement Living, said, “I’m so pleased that our teams at Jazz Court and Jubilee Court have been shortlisted for three Great British Care Awards. It’s recognition of all their hard work, particularly since the pandemic and lockdown began, and it’s very well-deserved. I’m looking forward to celebrating with them at the regional awards ceremonies in April 2021.”
