Support for retirement living Starts At Home
Sanctuary Retirement Living is supporting Starts At Home Day today, an initiative led by the National Housing Federation (NHF) aimed at celebrating the positive impact of supported housing.
Run as an annual campaign, the focus this year is to highlight the invaluable work in the supported housing sector, and the effect it has on residents.

Through Starts At Home Day, the NHF is calling on the Government to allocate a ring-fenced support fund, following a 2018 National Audit Office report that found spending on support services nationwide had reduced by 69% since 2010.
Sanctuary Retirement Living is supporting Starts At Home Day by sharing stories from staff and residents about the value supported housing brings to people’s lives across the country.
This includes Anthony, who receives support at Coopers Court and care and support worker Donna, who says she is proud to work at Jubilee Court in March.
Sara Keetley, Operations Director – Sanctuary Supported Living, said: “Starts At Home Day is a vital day of action in our sector. It highlights the significance of what supported housing does in our society, as well as campaigning for much-needed support.
“It gives us a fantastic opportunity to showcase the importance of what we do, from the perspective of the people who really make a difference – our frontline staff and residents.”
