Secret Santa treats for residents

Residents from two retirement services have received special festive gifts from their communities.

The two services, both owned and managed by Sanctuary Retirement Living, have been linking in with community organisations to bring Christmas cheer to their residents through present donation projects.

In Scarborough, the team at Jazz Court worked with the local Age UK service on the project, with one resident’s box full of festive treats being the first gift she had received in five years.

And in Derby, Greenwich Gardens residents welcomed a visit from representatives of the Derby Secret Santa campaign, who handed out Yuletide gifts.

With the aim of ensuring that people who may be lonely at Christmas receive at least one gift, the project’s ethos reflects Sanctuary Retirement Living’s ‘Your Home Your Life’ approach.

A Wellbeing and Inclusion Assistant is employed at each Sanctuary Retirement Living service to support residents to lead healthy lives in the way they choose, promote positive wellbeing, and connect them to opportunities in their local communities.
