Easter fair results in cracking treat for children in hospital
A Telford woman has shown she’s a good egg by donating a jumbo chocolate prize she won in her retirement living scheme’s Easter tombola to a local children’s ward.
Susan Rowe, a resident of Sanctuary’s Rose Manor on Ketley Park Road, handed over the enormous egg to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford to spread some seasonal joy to children spending their Easter weekend on the ward.
The 10kg chocolate egg was top prize at Rose Manor’s tombola, which was held as part of its Easter fair event, and was handed over the following week.
Other activities at the event, which attracted over 50 visitors, included craft stalls and handmade cards.
Activities coordinator Sian Davies said: “This was a lovely gesture on the part of Susan and would have made the children’s Easter.
“We’re already delighted with the response we had to the Easter fair, but this display of generosity is just the icing on the cake.”
