Burns Night and Chinese New Year

17 January 2020

Sanctuary Retirement Living services are inviting residents and their local communities to join them for Burns Night and Chinese New Year.

Burns Night and Chinese New Year at Sanctuary Retirement Living

Most Sanctuary Retirement Living services have an on-site Taste restaurant, open daily to residents, family and friends, as well as the public for breakfast, lunch and snacks. To mark Burns Night and Chinese New Year, which both fall on Saturday 25 January this year, many of the Taste restaurants will be featuring either a Burns Night or a Chinese New Year themed special menu.

Diners can choose from two or three courses, with dishes for Burns Night including traditional Scottish classics such as cock-a-leekie soup, haggis with a whisky sauce served with neeps and tatties, and cranachan for dessert.

The menu for Chinese New Year includes chicken noodle soup or vegetable spring rolls, followed by sweet and sour pork, beef in black bean sauce or vegetable stir fry. All main courses are served with side dishes, which include egg fried rice, noodles and prawn crackers. Dessert options include banana or pineapple fritters served with vanilla ice cream.

Menus may vary slightly, so please contact your nearest service for more information and prices. Booking in advance is not essential but is recommended, particularly for larger groups.
