21 March 2017

A Newmarket retirement living scheme is inviting the community to join in with its Red Nose Day celebrations.

On Friday 24 March, Sanctuary’s Exning Court, on Cotton End Road, will be hosting a coffee morning (10 am to 12 noon) and crafternoon (2 pm to 4.30 pm) to raise funds for Comic Relief.

The coffee morning will feature homemade cake decorating, while the crafternoon event will include clay modelling, rubber stamping, cross stitching, an art class and greeting card making activities.

A raffle will be held throughout the day, with winners drawn during the afternoon event.

Money will be raised at the coffee morning through coffee and cake sales while entry to the craft event is £2, with visitors encouraged to wear red.

Activities coordinator Jenny Payne said: “Our residents have put a lot of love into their cakes and can’t wait to see them sold off for a good cause.

“We’d encourage anyone to come along and enjoy the fun; with so much going on, there will be something to suit all tastes.”
