Lawley Bank Court exterior and gardens

Peter Adams

Peter Adams moved into Lawley Bank Court in Telford in September 2019 to live closer to his daughter, following the loss of his wife of 60 years, Patricia.

The 90-year-old lived in Sheffield for most of his life and had a varied career, first as an apprentice electrician, a train and vacuum service engineer, then latterly a salesman. Peter has fond memories of sunny holidays with Patricia, including a memorable 50th wedding anniversary cruise around the Caribbean.

Now taking things at a gentler pace at Lawley Bank Court, Peter enjoys listening to music and watching sport on TV. He also enjoys going to his local church when it’s safe to do so.

Lawley Bank Court also runs regular events including Peter’s particular favourite – Andre Rieu DVD night. He also enjoys walking club in dry weather when they’ve been known pick fruit growing on the wild trees and bushes.

He said; “I’m very happy living at Lawley Bank Court, the staff are wonderful and it’s fantastic having my daughter, Elizabeth, living nearby.”

Lawley Bank Court provides accessible one and two-bedroom apartments and communal facilities for over 55s or people who have long term care needs. Residents can enjoy their retirement in comfort and maintain their independence for longer, with the peace of mind that the onsite care and support team are available when needed
