Wimborne House resident Cheryl Bell has been living at  Sanctuary Retirement Living’s Wimborne House in Gravesend since 2016.

Cheryl had been living in her own home but needed additional support, so was referred there by her social worker.

Since moving into her own apartment at the retirement community, Cheryl has benefited from support provided by Sanctuary’s on-site care team, with everyday tasks including cooking, medication and shopping allowing her to regain her confidence and live more comfortably.

She has made lots of friends and likes to help all the other residents as much as she can. Her new-found confidence has led to her to take on a new project – transforming her flat and furnishing it with her choice of new furniture and blinds.

Rosaline Koroma – Registered Retirement Living Manager, said: “Cheryl keeps her flat spotless and loves living here. She is decorating throughout her home with the support of the team and we’re so pleased to see her thriving here.”

Cheryl added: “I’m a lot happier since moving to Wimborne House – I love living here!”

Wimborne House offers retirement apartments for the over-55s or people who have long term care needs. Residents have their own one- or two-bedroom apartment with access to communal facilities and onsite care and support tailored to their individual circumstances.
