Female Care and Support Worker - Part Time

Rosary Priory, Bushey

£8.42 to £8.77 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

15 hours per week, including weekends

We are currently seeking a Female Care and Support Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our 9 elderly Sisters based at the Rosary Priory convent. At Rosary Priory, we provide personal care and support for retired nuns from the Dominician Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena Newcastle Natal, ensuring they have comfort, independence and peace of mind during their retirement.

You will use your skills to work with colleagues to provide a personalised service and achieve the best outcome for our Sisters. If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.

The role of Female Care and Support Worker will include:

  • Providing personal care to our Sisters
  • Administering medication
  • Providing refreshments for the Sisters
  • Helping our Sisters with activities such as attending Chapel
  • Occasionally you will need to escort the Sisters to GP/hospital appointments
  • Cleaning communal areas of the convent

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience in a similar care-related role is desirable, however we can consider applicants with a caring and compassionate nature
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  • An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
