Assistant Chef – Part Time

Bailey Court, Liverpool

£8.70 to £9.16 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

18 hours per week – 3 days on a rotational basis, including alternate weekends

We are seeking an Assistant Chef to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Situated in a residential area of Kirkby, Bailey Court provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s. Our in-house Taste restaurant and café are open to residents and members of the public from 9am to 2pm, seven days a week, and has a 5* hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency. The role of Assistant Chef will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our residents
  • Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards
  • Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard
  • Assisting with the supervision and development of staff

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in a catering environment is required
  • A valid basic Food Hygiene Certificate, or the willingness to work towards one, is essential
  • Proven knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Friendly and approachable attitude with the ability to interact with our residents, visitors and colleagues
  • Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality, or qualification at an equivalent level
  • Qualified or willing to study 706 City and Guilds, is essential
