Staff story: Carron Lawrence

Care and Support Worker Carron Lawrence, who is based at Sanctuary Retirement Living’s Wimborne House in Gravesend, is committed to helping residents remain as independent as possible. 

Part of her job is to work with the residents in their own homes, following bespoke support plans to make sure they live their own life in the way they wish.

Carron said: “It’s such a rewarding job. The fact that all of our residents have their own homes means it’s very important to help them maintain their independence, whether that’s continuing to shop for themselves or cooking their own meals.”

Before starting at Sanctuary in 2016, Carron had spent nearly 20 years working in care roles, but says it’s the people here who make the difference.

She said: “I’ve met so many nice people during my time here, both staff and residents.

“It’s a great feeling to come to work knowing you can have such a positive impact on someone’s life.”
